1 Peter 3:16 (KJV)
16 "Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ."
As followers of Christ, we face criticism, judgment, and slander. Why? Because we say we are perfect and righteous through Jesus. When we preach the truth that Jesus has perfected us forever, many will reject it and accuse us of arrogance, ignorance, or falsehood. But God calls us to hold fast, trusting that His truth prevails even when we’re misunderstood.
1 Peter 3:16 reminds us to keep a clear conscience, knowing that even when others speak evil of us, the gospel of Christ will stand. Their accusations although painful, hold no weight against the eternal truth that we are made righteous in Jesus.
When the people around you judge and accuse you, let the gospel of Christ silence them.
When we live boldly for the gospel, persecution is inevitable. Just as Jesus was falsely accused, mocked, and rejected, we too will face opposition. But instead of being discouraged, we can take heart in knowing that we are sharing in Christ’s sufferings.
Our mission isn’t to win people’s approval, it’s to remain faithful to the message of grace and eternal security in Jesus Christ.
Persecution isn’t a sign you’re wrong, it’s evidence that you’re on the right path.
Satan wouldn't attack you if you're doing his work. Let that sink in for a bit......
When others judge or accuse us, our natural instinct is to defend ourselves. But 1 Peter 3:16 encourages us to maintain a good conscience and let our testimony speak for itself. God sees every false accusation, every twisted word, and every unfair judgment. He is the One who defends and justifies us.
God will make the truth clear in His perfect timing. Our job is not to fight back but to trust Him to handle the judgment.
When we leave judgment in God’s hands, we find peace in our hearts.
Even when we face slander and persecution, we must remember that the gospel is worth it. Our calling is to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ: that He has reconciled us to God, made us holy, and secured our salvation forever. This message will always be offensive to those who rely on their works or reject God’s grace.
The gospel we share has the power to transform lives, and every seed we plant matters. You guys are living proof of this. That's why Satan is big mad.
We must understand that every trial leads to triumph eternally.
Today, if you’re facing judgment or accusations for sharing the gospel, take a moment to surrender those burdens to God. Ask Him to strengthen your heart, sharpen your focus, and help you trust Him with the outcome. Remember, your mission isn’t to convince everyone, it’s to remain faithful to the truth of the gospel.
Selah!
